RITEWAY BUS SERVICE IS RECGONIZED FOR CLEAN AIR EFFORTS

Riteway Bus Service, Inc. received the 2009 Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air (WPCA) Recognition Award for their efforts toward the  improvement of Wisconsin’s air quality.  The presentation was made to Ronald Bast and Rochelle Bast, president and vice president respectively, during the Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air Extravaganza held on Thursday May 20, 2010.

The WPCA is a coalition of about 300 businesses, community organizations, schools and government agencies committed to improving air quality through voluntary action.  WPCA educates Wisconsin businesses and residents on air quality issues and works to effect behavior to improve air quality and reduce harmful air emissions as required by Wisconsin’s state implementation plan under the federal Clean Air Act.

The Bast family maintains a strong belief that having a sustainable business is important for the environment and the future.  Eco-friendly policies and procedures are in place to address emission reduction and fuel conservation and Riteway operates vehicles that meet the new EPA guidelines.  Other “green” initiatives by Riteway include a recycling program, digital imaging, energy efficient lighting and video conferencing for all locations.  Ronald Bast commented, “We’re very pleased to have received the recognition award from Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air and support their vision and commitment to cleaner air for Wisconsin and the future.”

Riteway Bus Service is a Founding Partner of the Motorcoach Council, North America’s industry-wide initiative to promote public awareness about the availability, selection, usage and benefits of motorcoach transportation.  To learn more about motorcoach travel, visit www.GetMotorcoachified.com

Celebrate Earth Day ~ Ride a Motorcoach

Thursday April 22, 2010 marks the 40th anniversary of
Earth Day.  Join Riteway in honoring our planet and all
living things that inhabit it.

Ideas:  plant a tree, recycle, use solar power and take steps to
reduce your carbon footprint.

  • Ride a motorcoach; they’re greener than you think.  A single
motorcoach can remove up to 56 passenger cars from
    crowded highways.
  • Our motorcoaches deliver more than
148 passenger miles per gallon of fuel, and yield more
people moving efficiency per BTU than any other
    mode of transportation.
  • Mortorcoaches use 946 BTUs per passenger mile,
compared to 3,890 for planes and 2,134 for trains.

Riteway shares the vision of the Motorcoach Council. As a founding partner, Riteway Bus Service has become personally involved in the future direction of the Council. By committee participation, and the sharing of information with colleagues and associations Riteway is assisting the Motorcoach Council in their efforts.

Motorcoach travel is safe, convenient, economical and environmentally responsible. The motorcoach industry serves everyone: daily commuters; shuttles to and from airports; student field trips, band trips and sport outings; and recreational travelers. Yet there is still a negative stereotype of the motorcoach industry that can be overcome. This is what the Motorcoach Council and Riteway Bus Service strive for.

Go Green, Celebrate Earth Day by riding a Motorcoach

April 13th 2008

Earth day is April 22nd and we can all do our part in helping our environment by going Green. One way to go Green is to get out of our cars and into a motorcoach. That’s right the Motorcoach industry is very “Green”. Motorcoaches are green when drivers become passengers and when equipment is designed to run clean. The result is a reduction of emissions and crowding of highways. Go Green, Go Motorcoach ! Save A Penguin. Take a Motorcoach

Besides operating a charter bus service, Riteway also provides daily commuter express service from Washington County to Milwaukee County. The Washington County Commuter Express (WCCE) is the perfect alternative to driving a car to downtown Milwaukee for work. Come ride the WCCE bus and sit back, relax, and read the morning paper as you ride the bus to work. Visit www.ridewcce.com for more information.

  • Each motorcoach has the potential of removing 55 autos from the highway. That’s millions of cars not driven annually, saving fuel, cutting emissions and reducing congestion.
  • Motorcoaches produce carbon emissions of only 56 grams per passenger, compared to 371 grams for a passenger car.
  • Diesel fuel is about 30% more efficient in combustion than gasoline, and today’s ultra low-sulfur diesel fuels are cleaner than ever.
  • Motorcoaches use 946 BTUs per passenger mile, compared to 3,890 for planes and 2,134 for trains.
  • Motorcoaches emit the least carbon dioxide (CO2) per passenger mile when compared to other vehicles. Carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by an average of 85% per passenger mile for every person who chooses motorcoach travel instead of driving alone.
