Riteway Celebrates 50 years
The qualities that make our company successful today are the same qualities that Rollie and Pearl Bast started the company with fifty years ago. The company “attitude” is based on a few simple rules;
First, love what you do no matter what it is.
Second, treat people as you would treat your family.
Finally, always have the “can do” attitude and refresh that attitude with honesty.
We know that when these rules are followed everything else will just fall into place, Riteway has lived by them for fifty years and they have worked well for us.
We want to earn our clients business. We know that there are other providers out there that offer the same service but we want to earn the right to establish a relationship with our clients. We are privileged to have the customers that we do.
We also emphasize community involvement and we believe that in order to be successful in a community you must be active in the community and give back as much as you possibly can. We know how busy people can get but we also know that if we would all just stop and pitch in when community events/activities come around we would all have a better place to live. We like who we are and what we stand for and our goal is that the communities we serve understand this.
Riteway Bus Service, Inc. was started over fifty years ago. The business started with a discussion about the transportation needs of the newly formed Germantown School District. The founders of Riteway knew there was a need and they had a good idea of how to provide it. They enlisted a couple of their friends to drive for them, and they began the “operation” with just four school buses. They wanted to provide safe dependable bus service for the children in their area. When they hired their friends to drive for them, they weren’t just hiring anybody, they were hiring friends, trusted individuals – people that could transport precious cargo (our children) to school. We have kept some of that same philosophy in our hiring practices today. We want drivers that we can trust, people that want to be part of our ever growing family. We still maintain that family atmosphere in our terminals.
The company continued its growth over the years and went from servicing just one school district to now servicing twenty districts throughout southern Wisconsin. Our business has grown into three divisions; school bus, motorcoach and limousine. Our school bus division which started with four buses in 1957 has a current fleet of 450. Our motorcoach division which started in the mid 80’s has a fleet of 28 and that division focuses on group charters and sporting events, touring; this division started the late 80’s. Our limousine division started in 2004 and we have a fleet of 24 vehicles including limousines, executive sedans and shuttle coaches. Our company also operates the Washington County Commuter Express which transports people from outlying areas into the city mainly for work. We continue with the simple philosophy of filling the needs of our area and making sure that our customers know how important they are. We really love what we do!
